These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Baserok (“Baserok”, “we”, “us”) governing your use of the website at usebaserok.com, the Baserok web application, and any related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Baserok is an AI-assisted customer-discovery platform. You provide a description of a product or idea; the Service generates a Jobs-to-be-Done analysis informed by publicly available data from third-party sources (such as Reddit, Bluesky, the Apple App Store, Google Trends, and similar). Outputs are produced in part by large-language-model providers and are best treated as evidence-led hypotheses, not statements of fact.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep it current.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
- One person or entity per account. You may not share, sell, or transfer your account.
3. Plans, credits and billing
Free tier
Free accounts start with three (3) research credits. When the balance reaches zero, the Service may automatically grant two (2) additional credits no more than once every seven days. Free credits do not roll over: if your balance is above zero when a refill window opens, no additional credits are granted that week.
Paid plans
- Starter (£29 / month) includes 24 research credits per billing period.
- Pro (£79 / month) includes 72 research credits per billing period.
- Pay-as-you-go (£12 / pack) grants nine (9) research credits per purchase, with no recurring billing.
Subscription credits granted by Starter and Pro plans accumulate across billing periods and do not expire while your subscription is active. Pay-as-you-go credits do not expire while your account remains open. Prices are exclusive of any applicable VAT or sales tax, which will be added at the prevailing rate.
Auto-renewal and cancellation
Paid subscriptions renew automatically each month unless cancelled before the next billing date. You may cancel at any time from the billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access (and any unused credits) until then. We do not provide pro-rata refunds for partial periods except where required by law.
Failed payments
If a payment fails, your account may be moved to a past-due state. We will retry per Stripe’s standard schedule. Persistent non-payment may result in suspension or downgrade to the free tier.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service or its underlying models.
- Use the Service to generate, store, or distribute unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or infringing content.
- Use automated means to scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract the Service’s outputs at a rate exceeding ordinary human use, or to circumvent rate limits.
- Submit prompts designed to extract personal data about specific living individuals.
- Use the Service to develop a competing product, train a competing model, or to benchmark for the purpose of public comparison without our prior written consent.
- Attempt to probe, test, or breach the security of the Service without prior written authorisation. Coordinated security disclosures are welcomed at the address below.
We may suspend or terminate accounts for material or repeated breach of this section. Where reasonable, we will give notice and an opportunity to cure.
5. Your content and outputs
You retain ownership of the inputs you submit to the Service (“Your Inputs”). You grant Baserok a worldwide, royalty-free licence to process Your Inputs solely to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
Subject to your continued compliance with these Terms, you are free to use, modify, and commercialise the analyses the Service generates for you (“Outputs”). We do not claim ownership in your Outputs. Outputs are generated in part by AI models from third-party providers and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies.
If you choose to share a build publicly using the share-link feature, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display that build to anyone who possesses the link, until you revoke or delete it.
6. Third-party data sources
The Service reads publicly available content from sources including Reddit, Bluesky, the Apple App Store, and Google Trends. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or availability of that content, and changes to those sources’ terms or APIs may affect the Service. Citations point to source URLs; we are not the publisher of that source content.
7. AI-generated content disclaimer
Outputs are produced with the assistance of artificial intelligence. They are not professional advice and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for business, legal, financial, medical, or other consequential decisions. Evidence-strength scores reflect the breadth and recency of cited evidence; they do not guarantee accuracy. You are responsible for evaluating Outputs before acting on them.
8. Service availability
We aim to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. Where we discontinue a feature you actively depend on, we will give reasonable advance notice.
9. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the minimum required by law.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Baserok will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, or lost data, arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the greater of (a) £100 or (b) the amounts you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Baserok harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your infringement of any third party’s rights.
12. Termination
You may close your account at any time from the settings page or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account for material breach, suspected fraud, or to comply with legal obligations. On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Soft-deleted builds are retained for up to 30 days to permit recovery, then permanently deleted. Some records (for example, Stripe transaction records) are retained as required by applicable law.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice in the Service before it takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, except that consumers in the EEA or UK retain the right to bring proceedings in their country of residence where required by applicable law.
